Here
is my build up of the Tamiya F117 Stealth Fighter, it was built generally out of
the box except for the addition of wire brake and electrical conduits on the
landing gear legs and a Quickboost resin ejection seat.

The
model went together very well with no filler used anywhere, as you come to
expect from a Tamiya kit. There is a great amount of detail supplied in
the kit bomb bay, there is no way you could assemble this closed and hide
that lovely detail. The wheel wells are equally well detailed.
The
black paint scheme was a real pain to paint properly and I invested a
considerable amount of time in it. Having said that I am still not happy with my
efforts! The problem I was having was, just when I would get the shading and
highlights just right, the gloss and or flat coats would hide all of my hard
work!! Still practice makes perfect and I still have a few more all black
aircraft in my stash to hone my painting skills on.
I
hope you enjoy the photos, more of my work can be seen on my blog by visiting:
