“PAN
AMERICAN GRACE-AIRWAYS INC.” PANAGRA
Hello
Steve and fellow modelers. Today I'm presenting you this jewel. I always wanted
to represent in a model the Panagra DC-3B because this was the company my father
used to work for in the beginning of his professional live as a ATC Official in
1946 and ATC Director for the Civil Aviation Bureau. This model used to fly the
routes Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile, La Paz, Lima and Limatambo in Perú,
Quito, Guayaquil, Esmeraldas, Cuenca in Ecuador. Sometimes they used interline
alliances with other national companies to cover their domestic flights.

To
achieve this scheme I used the Minicraft 1/144 Douglas DC-3B which comes with
the United Airlines livery. All I had to do is rescribed the fuselage panel
lines once it was sanded and polished. I painted the model with Model Master
White Enamel for the upper fuselage and Humbrol Silver for the lower fuselage
and the rest of the model.
PANAGRA
and PAN AMERICAN GRACE – AIRWAYS INC. decals for the fuselage and wings are
made by myself including fuselage and tail logos. Then the decals are sealed
with MicroScale Gloss varnish and the entire model is sealed with future.
Hope
you like it…!
Greetings
from Quito-Ecuador
