TF-104G, 25. Years Fighter Bomber Wing 31 "Boelke"

Today I present a model that already has been a long time lying behind my newer models. I had recently seen a built model in an Airforce-Museum and then started home with the construction of my model.

Revell presented here the only two-seat Starfighter of the German Air Force wearing a special livery.

It was the light blue TF-104G “Registration 28 + 31”. The occasion was the 25th anniversary of the Fighter Bomber Wing 31 "Boelcke" in1983 and the farewell of the F-104 in this squadron.

Up to some scratch built changes in the cockpit I have built the well-known model from Revell straight "out of the box". In my opinion it is a good model with recessed engraving panel lines and good detail. The fit is good, putty work is limited. There are only a few decals, but also the original had not a single maintenance instruction. Painting is done with my own color mixing, because I did not have the original color "light blue RAL 5012”

To obtain this kit today, I think you had to look at Model exhibitions or via the Internet.

In the future I probably will built some more of these "Bunte Mühlen” .

Enjoy the fotos.
