1/72 Hasegawa Boeing F-15E Tiger Meet 2005

This model is an Hasegawa 1/72 USAF F-15E from the limited edition box number 02119. I decided to show this bird with an attractive paint scheme for Tiger Meet 2005. This special scheme represents bird block 50 serial 90 0250 delivered in 1990 from 391st Fighter Squadron Bolt Tigers 366th Fighter Wing Mountain Home Idaho. I used decals from the box, decals are accurate (fin stripes and badges) and spectacular (tiger's head) and easy to fit. I followed the HASEGAWA instructions regarding colors, dark grey Gunze acrylic FS36118 H305. This kit is the corrected Hasegawa F-15E with new parts for Conformal Fuel Tanks, bombs pylons and main gears doors. I added a light weathering to highlight engraved kit and new painted panel on right wing to brake the color uniformity.

I show the bird like the picture on the box with no armaments and external fuel tanks. I just added AN/AAQ-28 Litening laser designator pod on left front and AN/AAQ-13 navigation pod on right front, both from the kit. It was a pleasure to build a so attractive and decorated plane.

All US tiger units are only honorary members of the Tiger association, so they are not often deployed for this European annual drill and specific tiger marks on US planes are uncommon. The next Tiger Meet will be at Konya AB, Turkey in May 2015, I don't know for the moment the complete list of competitors countries, (sure Turkey, Greece, France, perhaps Germany, Norway, Belgium, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Great Britain, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, USA and Canada).

I hope you will enjoy my model and pictures and unit patches. One pilot patch is at my name, just a funny joke.

Tiger tiger tiger!!! (The competition war cry)
