This particular subject is 88-1700 "Dragon Betty II" of the 336th fighter squadron "Rocketeers" of the 4th fighter wing from Seymour Johnson AFB North Carolina during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

AIM-120B AMRAAMs, AIM-9M Sidewinders, AGM-130 GBU, GBU-12 Paveway II LGB, and GBU-38 JDAMs were used for the weapons load out.

Other items used were the AAQ-33 Snoper pod, AN/AAQ-13 navigation pod, the AXQ-14 data link pod and a fuel tank.

The model kit itself represents an early F-15E out of the box, so I used additional parts from an Academy F-15E strike eagle kit to represent the latest updates added to the strike eagle, like the LAU-128 missile rails. There was very little modifications needed to modify or update the kit, outside of adding the necessary parts.

Only the GPS dot was scratch built.

I used decals from both the Revell-Monogram kit and the Academy kit. Paints used were LifeColor acrylics , Tamiya acrylics for most of the detail painting and Testors Model Master acrylics for the overall Gunship Gray on the airframe.

I also used a oil wash for the panel lines to give the strike eagle a well used look.

This is the fourth strike eagle kit I have built from Revell Monogram and I truly enjoyed this build.
