This model depicts
one of the aircraft flown by Squadron Commander LCDR H.D.Felt of VB-2 aboard the
U.S.S. Lexington in late 1939 and early 1940.

This model depicts an
aircraft from VMSB-241 that was flown by 2Lt. James H. Marnamde during the
Battle of Midway.
The white striping on the rear of
the fuselage was doped over medical tape that was used to hold the decaying
fabric in place until the aircraft could be repaired at an overhaul facility.
Both models were built out of the box using Model Masters Paint and aluminum
lacquer. Kit decals were used on the -3 and home made decals on the -1.
