1/48 Hasegawa AV-8B Harrier II

The kit was built using Aires cockpit and wheel wells and Eduard's photoetched parts.  Kit decals were replaced with excellent TwoBobs' ones. The open maintenance doors and refueling probe are scratchbuilt .  I also purchased Airwaves landing gears, but I can't recommend them because of poor details on them.  For me it looks better to use the kit ones and add some wires.  Painting was done with Tamiya sprays, weathering with oil paints and some Agama pigments.

The Aires cockpit looks very good, it's nicely detailed but the instrument panel is not accurate so I used the Eduard one.  Wheel wells needed a lot of sanding to fit into fuselage, but I think they worth the effort.  The kit itself went together well except of the joint between upper fuselage and wing which cost me a lot of time and nerves during sanding and recribing panel lines.

I hope you like it.
