Hello,
greetings from Colombia. This is the most powerful helicopter of our
fleet, the UH-60L ARPIA III, which is an armored version
for our technicians of the UH-60L Black Hawk. This is a 1:72 italeri
kit of a Desert Hawk, but with the Colombian modifications, such as
dispenser of chaff and flares, meteorological radar and FLIR. The
armament is also different from the original helicopter, since it comes
with 4 GAU-19 and 2 M-60 for self-defense and attack, in addition to 2 launchers
for 19 rockets
of 2.75 inches.

His
construction was very interesting and sucessful, since I have to do the
GAU and his boxes of ammunition, as well as the radar, flir and
counter-measures. The decals that I used were the kit decals, but I
painted the Colombian ensigns by hand. It has all the doors opened
to give a better view of the interior to better appreciate the detaisl
which includes 2 first-aid kits and 2 fire extinguishers.
This helicopter is most feared by
the guerrilla groups in Colombia, it's appearance has prevented attacks
against the general population and saved many lives. It is dispersed
throughout the country fulfilling different missions but this particlular
helicopter is based at the CACOM-5 in Rionegro. During
the visit of the president Bush they flew over Bogota watching our air space
and offering protection to so important a visitor.
Greetings from Colombia, the land
of Juan Valdez!
