The straight wing
F-84 Thunderjets were great early jets for the U.S. Air Force...until they
tangled with the more agile Mig-15. While they were ultimately replaced by
the F-86 Sabre version, the Thunderjets finished the Korean War in a
bomber/attack role, widely used to take out supply lines and heavy rail.
The sleek, sexy body of the F-84 makes it one of the more attractive jets,
at least to me.
This build was strictly OOB,
inclduing the decals. The NMF is Alclad II Polished Aluminum. I can't
praise the kit enough, and OOB detail is more than sufficient. I chose to
build this with the gun bay and cockpit closed to show the sleek outline
of this beauty. Sacrificing the tell tale sign of decal outline for a more
realistic NMF, I chose to NOT seal in the decals with Future.

This was a fun build
of an important early jet. Anyone interested in Korean War subjects should definately
find this kit and add it to your stable.
