Silly Week 2008

This is my first submission which I thought would be good for silly week.

A couple of months ago my model club had a small group build, we all brought the same Tamiya F-4G Phantom and we could build it in any way we wanted. Most built the phantom as is, but a couple of us  built it into something else, here is my version.

I started with sanding off all the raised lines, cut out 30mm from the middle also cut out the arrester hook area. Then I raided the junk box.

A old F-15 was mainly used eg. canopy, tails, exhausts (which fitted the F-4 exhausts inside).  I also raided some sea eagles missiles off a sea harrier and the intakes are off a F-18 and turned upside down.  I still had a phantom shape wing in plan view so I cut off the ends and swapped them over.  It was great fun to build and got some interesting looks at the club meeting, hope you like it.
