Number 108. A
Hasegawa F-4E of the Israeli defense force. Built mostly Out of the box with the
following add ons. A camera stand from a dollar store. This model had more flash
then any other Phantom I have ever seen. The landing gear would have taken days
to clean. So I said screw it, and built it wheels up. Lucky on this one, the
doors were a perfect fit. No putty.
Camera stand from a
dollar store does wonders, and saves a little room on the shelf. Next add on was
bombs and a laser guider from a Hasegawa weapons set. The biggest or
hardest to find change is the IDF style refueling probe. I stole this from a
RF-4E IDF kit which I built as a RF-4C a while back. I knew the probe would come
in handy one day.

The decals
are a very old Superscale sheet. The paint guide on the Superscale sheet is
completely useless so I painted my model from the RF-4E instructions and photo
references I had in various books in my basement.
The decals are said
to be from 113 squadron in the early 1970's. There is debate if this squadron
ever actually had Phantoms and if it could have been a miss information
exercise.
Don't know the point
of that. I do now that if a Phantom is baring down on my skull, dropping big
honking laser guided urban regenerators, I don't really give a rats bum which
squadron is doing the deed.
But, we must all
agree it does have the most over the top sharks mouth out there. This model was
built for the ARC IDF group build.
