This new decal sheet from Wolfpak Decals includes markings for 5 different aircraft including two KC-135R, F-16C, A-10A and B-24D.

The first aircraft is a KC-135R serial #  62-3505 based at RAF Mildenhal after they arrived on Feb 1 1992.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is overall AMC Gray FS 36173.  One special item to note is the square D on the tail that traces it's lineage and honors back to the 100th Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force.  This aircraft had the CFM-56 engines and the instructions tell which colors were used to paint the cockpit, flight deck, instrument panels, and cargo bay floor walkways as well as the interior, seats and much much more.  The instructions also tell which type of refueling booms were fitted.  Available kits are the 1/72 AMT KC-135R or the Heller KC-135FR kit.  The Heller kit has the multi Point Refueling System Pods, Rons Resin made the pods but they are currently out of production.

The second aircraft is a KC-135R serial #  62-3551 based at RAF Mildenhal after they arrived on Feb 1 1992.  This is a MPRS equipped aircraft. The Heller kit has the multi Point Refueling System Pods , Rons Resin made the pods but they are currently out of production.

The third aircraft is a F-16C+ serial #  86-0244 with the 149th Fighter Squadron, 192nd Fighter wing with the Virginia Air National Guard at Richmond, VA in 2007.  The paint scheme the standard two tone gray paint scheme common to F-16's and the markings include the red/white/blue band VA ANG across the top of the tail.  This VA ANG is unusual in that their F-16's are powered by the General Electric F110-GE-100 engine with the smaller normal shock inlet, also referred to as the "small mouth" intake.  Available kits are the 1/72 Hasegawa F-16C, Hasegawa F-16CJ, Revell F-16C Blk 50, Academy F-16C Blk 50.  The instructions go into great detail about the colors used for detail painting (cockpit, wheels wells etc) and the various weapons and pods fitted to various stations on this aircraft for different mission types.

The fourth aircraft is a A-10A Serial # 81-0943 with the 354th Fighter Squadron, 355th Fighter Wing out of Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ in 2006.  The 354th FS is the only combated coded A-10 Squadron in the Wing  and the 355th FW is the largest A-10 wing in the Air Force.  This particular aircraft was assigned to the 354 FS commander LT Col Martha McSally, who was the first female combat pilot in the Air Force.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is a lo-viz scheme of Dark Ghost Gray on top and Light Ghost Gray on the underside.  Available kits are the 1/72 Hasegawa A-10A, Hasegawa A-10A, Hobbycraft A-10A and Academy A-10A.  The instructions go into great detail about the colors used for detail painting (cockpit, wheels wells etc) and the various weapons and pods fitted to various stations on this aircraft for different missions during Operation Enduring Freedom.

The fifth aircraft is a B-24D-30-CO Serial # 42-40102 "Old Baldy" which was a Convair Liberator built at their San Diego factory.  This B-24 was with the 345th Bomb Squadron, under "Killer" Kane's 98 Bomb Group nicknamed the "Pyramidiers".  This aircraft was lost with it's crew during the Ploesti Raid on Aug 1 1943.  Artwork on the side of the fuselage is a Big Bald Eagle with the black text "Old Baldy" below the artwork.  Available kits are the 1/72 Hasegawa B-24, Revell B-24 and Academy B-24.  The instructions go into great detail about the colors used for detail painting (cockpit, interior wheels wells etc) and the various bombs carried on it's final mission.

The 7 pages of instructions are clear and include multiple views of each aircraft.  I have not included scans of some of the instruction sheets as they only included text but the text is full of helpful detail for scale modellers.  The decals are beautifully printed on 1 decal sheet.

Wolfpak Decals is famous for providing variety on their decal sheets and this decal sheet is no exception and includes aircraft that will have a wide appeal.
