The 8 page instructions booklet is
clear and well laid out and includes all the info you need to build any of the
aircraft featured on this decal sheet. The decals are
beautifully printed on 2 decal sheets and one insert decal sheet.
Regarding the Mexican flags on
this sheet. The green on these decals is lighter that the actual Mexican
flag, but the photo directly below and the last 3 photos in this review show
Mexican Hawkeyes using a green very close to the green on these decals.
Also the flag on the right side of the tail is reversed from the normal Mexican
flag. Both decals are printed with the red and green stripes reversed on
this decal sheet, so you can use one of these on the right side of the aircraft,
but for the left side of the tail you will need to cut the Mexican flag decal
and reposition the stripes on into the correct position. The last photos
in this the reveals the flag on the left side of the tail. If you think
the color of green is incorrect, then you do have the option to cut away that
part of the decal and repaint it. I took photos of the green on this decal
sheet indoors under different light as well as outside in the direct sun light
and each photo showed a different shade of green. With my naked eye the
green does look lighter than the green in this photo http://www.airliners.net/photo/Mexico---Navy/Grumman-E-2C-Hawkeye/0608636/M/
and if I was going to
be building a Mexican Hawkeye I think I would cut away the green on the flags
and paint that area myself with an ever so slightly darker shade of green.
Here's some further photos of
Mexican Hawkeyes:
This is a great decal sheet and this sheet is very timely
considering the recent release of the Kinetic Hawkeye kit. This sheet
gives you the ability to build one of the many Hawkeyes used by foreign air
forces operating the Hawkeye.
