Robert T. Rio joins us with his very nicely done 1/48 Academy Mirage 3C.  Robert did some scratchbuilding to improve upon the detail and accuracy of his Mirage 3C.


Carmel John Attard is here with his 1/72 Rareplanes TC-45 and Airmodel T-28 and Buckeye.   All 3 of these look excellent and to see the 3 of them in the same colour scheme is quite the treat.

Rob Doctor starts your Friday update with his 1/18 Scale Aircraft Armament.   Robert goes into some very good detail about adding a proper weapons load to these big 1/18 scale jets.


Mark Davies is here with his nicely done 1/72 Fujimi Tachikawa Ki 55 (Ida).  Mark finished his Ki 55 in the more unique civil markings.  


Dean Large has done an outstanding job detailing and finishing his 1/48 Academy P-38J.   Dean did paint chipping and exhaust stains to get his sharp looking D-Day P-38 looking just right.


Aloong has done a beautiful job building his 1/48 Tamiya Me-262.  Aloong added the Cutting Edge cockpit set to get the interios lookign even better and finished it off with a well done camo paint job.


Rodrigo Rejas V. joins us with his very well done 1/72 Pioneer Sukhoi Su-15TM Flagon "Red 17".  Rodrigo did extra detailing to improve this kit and finished it off with decals he made himself.  This is the same type of jet that shot down Korean flight 007.   


Alessio Orsi aka Oldcrow has done an exceptionally nice job building and finishing his 1/72 Revell F-4E Phantom II.  Alessio also built a diorama base witha  tow bar for his Phantom. 


Allan Wanta is here with his very well done 1/72 Anigrand  Douglas XA2D-1Skyshark.  Allan has high marks for this resin kit and tells all about it in his article.

Iain Matheson  is here with the final Kits for Kandahar Update.   This project was a MASSIVE success thanks to all who donated and Gary Porter and his Team of volunteers.  Businesses also donated to this cause including Steve Stohr at North American Hobbies with his big donation of badly needed glues and paint.


Rodney Williams is here with award winning 1/32 Revell F4U-1A.   When it comes to racing planes.....Rodney knows his stuff.


Alexis Demulder is here with a very well done 1/48 Revell A-7E Corsair II.   Alexis used a resin cockpit, aftermarket decals and some light weathering.


Francisco Colaço is here with one of the more rare aircraft from WW2.  This is his 1/48 Special Hobby Flettner FL 265 which he built almost out of the box.  


Daniël Obers is here with his very sharp looking 1/72 Hasegawa F-4C.  Daniël finished his Phantom in Spanish markings.

F-4DableModels and E-Hobby HQ aided by the Selangor & Federal Territories Plastic Modeling Society (SFTPMS), will be holding a F-14 Retirement Party event on 7 October here in our capital city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  The one-day event will be paying tribute to the best of Naval Aviation and will showcase a large collection of F-14 models and related stuff that tells the story of the F-14, from beginning to end.  There'll also be a USN flight gear display and a round-the-clock video presentation including some footage from Grumman.

Tim Groombridge begins this special F-14 retirement update with his 1/72 Italeri F14 Tomcat.   Job well done Tim.


Alan Williamson has done a wonderful job weathering his 1/48 Hasegawa F-14B Tomcat.   Alan chose to finish his Tomcat in VF-103 Jolly Rogers, from the USS JOHN F KENNEDY markings.


Eduard Boxem has done a beautiful job building his 1/48 Italeri F-14A Tomcat.   Eduard finished his F-14 in markings for the VF-31 'Tomcatters' onboard the USS Forrestal in 1985.


Ricardo Camus M joins us from Chile with his nicely done 1/72 Hasegawa F-14A Tomcat.  Ricardo added figures to his F-14.   


Craig Jones joins us for the first time on ARC with his sharp looking 1/32 Revell F-14A Tomcat.   Craig finished his F-14 in 1998 CAG bird of the Black Knights (VF-154) markings.  Welcome to ARC Craig!!!

Albert Moore begins the Jewish New Year with his 1/72 Hasegawa F-15A Eagle.  Albert did some scrathcbuilding on his F-15 to get it right. 


Rick Reinbott has done a stunning job on his  1/48 ESCI A-4N Skyhawk II.   Rick used some after market goodies and good old modeling skills to create this Israeli Skyhawk.  


Yoav Efrati joins us from Israel with his 1/72 Airfix Super Mystere.  More first class models from Yoav.  


Arie "Loin" Cohen joins us from Israel with his1/24 Trumpeter Spitfire Floatplane.   This beauty was photoed on the local Israeli beaches........I'm green with envy.

Friday,   Sept 22  2006     Mali Independence Day  

Greg D. Williams has been busy building and detailing his 1/72 Hasegawa EA-6B Prowler.  Greg did a variety of things including resin casting to create his Prowler.  He finished it off in VAQ-140 Patriots markings.


Hal Marshman, Sr has done a great job building his 1/48 Tamiya FW-190 A-3.  Hal detailed all the critical areas to get his 190 looking right.   


Somchai "Blackeyes" has put quite a bit of effort into his 1/72 Eduard L-39C Albatros.   This special aircraft is in Hungarian Air Force markings.


Pavel Hrnčíř has done an outstanding job building and finishing his 1/48 Hasegawa J2M3 Raiden.   You need to read how Pavel does his paint jobs.....it is quite the process.


Pierpaolo Maglio has done an outstanding job building and detailing his 1/48 Hasegawa Mitsubishi F-2A.  Pierpaolo added some aftermarket sets and decals to complete his F-2.   


Bill Lachance has been busy adding details to his very sharp looking 1/48 Hasegawa P-51D Mustang.   Bill finished his Mustang in El Salvador Air Force during the infamous "Soccer War".

Thursday,   Sept 21  2006      Malta Independence Day  

Carmel John Attard stopped by the Malta ARC Corporate offices with his selection of 1/72 F-4 Phantoms.   These Phantoms all have weathering and quite the variety of US markings.


Mark Davies had a grand time building his 1/72 Avia Beriev MBR-2 (Mote).  This is not a plane you see on ARC everyday and I must say I got a kick out of seeing it.  Mark put quite the camo scheme on this odd looking beauty.  


Charles Leung joins us from Hong Kong with his 1/72 Trumpeter Chinese J-8II.   Charles tells the background behind this impressive looking model in his article. 


Gabriel Stern has done it again.  Just when you thought it was safe to come out of hiding.....Gabriel has created another eye popping wonder.  This is his  1/72 Horatio Philips 1904 multi-plane.   Yup.....it's scratchbuilt.....and you Biplane modellers complain about lining up 2 wings.  


Paul Hargett has succeeded where many modellers have given up.  He's built the 1/48 Classic Airframes F-5.  Read his article to find out how this was done.  It actually builds up to a great looking model in the hands of a determined and skilled modeller.   


Tim Groombridge has quite the history building his 1/24 Airfix P51D Mustang.  You'll have to read his story about building his Big Beautiful Mustang.

Dave Grogan starts your Wednesday update with his well done 1/48 Hasegawa F-16C Blk 42 Falcon.   Dave gave his Viper a full weapons load and added some scratch built details.  


Carmel John Attard joins us from Malta with his nicely done 1/72 Scratchbuilt DAR Papagal transport and 1/72 Airmodel Dornier Do-11.   Camel finished both these models in Bulgarian AF markings.


Pieter Posthumus has been busy super detailing his 1/32 Hasegawa TF-104 G Starfighter.  There are plenty of scratchbuilt details on this F-104. 


Scott Vomacka is here with his 1/48 Tamiya P-51D done up in Bare Metal Foil.  Scott also added a resin cockpit to get the details looking very sharp.  He includes some tips on using Bare Metal Foil in his article. 


Si Tomlinson has done a fine job building his 1/48 Airfix Lightning F.3.  Special thanks goes to Spaced Marine on the ARC Forums.  


Jason Cooper has done a beautiful job building his 1/48 Academy Bf-109D.  Jason used aftermarket decals on his 109 to get these special markings.

PS joins us with his beautifully done 1/72 Hasegawa F-111C.  PS did a bit of detailing and scratchbuilding to complete his Aussie F-111.   


Karel Sláma joins us with his very nicely done 1/48 Hasegawa Arado 234B.  This is how this aircraft looked shortly before the   attack on the bridge at Remagen in 1945.


Leslie Choy has been busy building and decaling his 1/48 Airfix BAE Hawks.   Leslie built 2 Hawks and added resin cockpits and some very special aftermarket decals with full fuselage Dragon schemes.  


Tom Rowson is here with his  first article on ARC today.  This is his 1/48 Airfix Spitfire Mk. Vb Tropical. which did provide Tom with more that a few moments to hone his skills and learn a few lessons.  Read his article......it is quite the tale.   Welcome to ARC Tom!!!

Monday,   Sept 18  2006        Chile Independence Day  

Andrés "Cítrico" Fonseca Wilder starts this special update with his 1/48 Academy Hawker Hunter FGA 9Andrés did a fair bit of scratchbuilding on his Hunter to get the details correct and finished it in Chilean Air Force markings in honour of the Chile Independence Day


Rodrigo Rejas V. is here with a selection of his 1/72 Chilean former and actual combat aircraft.  These aircraft are all finished in Chilean Air Force markings in honour of the Chile Independence Day and include planes from the P-47 to the F-5.    


Héctor Gatica P. is here with his 1/48 Academy F-16 FACH (Chilean Air Force).  Héctor did quite the job on his Chilean Viper.  Have a happy Independence Day in Chile everyone.


Yufei Mao has enjoyed building his 1/144 Sweet Macchi C.200 Tropical Type.  Yufei used nylon from stocking to make the antenna wire......quite a good trick because it never sags and is very flexible if touched. 


Rafi Ben-Shahar is here with his two 1/48 Monogram B-17G's.  One is done in barematal and the other in olive drab.  Both look excellent.   


Bla’k Ja’k is here with his very well done 1/72 Revell Blohm &Voss BV-138 C-1.  This is quite the unusual looking seaplane and I'm sure you'll enjoy seeing it.   


David Campbell is here with some photos from the Cajun Modelfest XXI that was hosted by Baton Rouge Scale Modelers at the USS Kidd DD 661 and Louisiana Naval Warfare Museum.   Nice one David.

Ken Middleton is here with his 1/48th Academy F-15C Eagle  that he converted to an F-15A.  Ken did some extra work on his F-15 and displayed it on one of his classic display bases.  This goes to show how nice this kit can be in the hands of a skilled modeller.


James Ashton is here with his first article on ARC.  This is his 1/24 Airfix Ju87B-2 Stuka that he built after a 20 year break from the hobby.  James has learned some trick and honed his skills....as you'll read and see in his article.  Welcome to ARC James!!!.

Billbuccaneer (aka Billy Calzada) has done quite a bit of scratch building on his 1/72 Testors SBD Dauntless that he converted to a Mexican A-24B Banshee.  Amazing work Billy!!!

Daniel starts your Friday update with his 1/32 Tamiya F-14A Tomcat.  Daniel added plenty of detail and excellent weathering to his Tomcat but he didn't use any aftermarket sets.  He also used a Tool 'n' Tips weathering article to get the finish looking correct.    


Steve Negley has been busy building his big 1/32 Trumpeter Mig-21MF "Fishbed J".  This big model is done in a 4 colour Russian camo scheme.  Nice one Steve.     


Steve Platt is here with his  first article on ARC today.  This is his 1/48 Monogram B-24J Liberator.  This beautifully done B-24 is finished in RAAF markings.  Welcome to ARC Steve!!!

Daryl Irwin E. Ayo starts your Thursday update with his 1/48 Tamiya F-15C Eagle.  I ran this article yesterday with the wrong photos....so here is is today with the correct photos.  


Timothy Smith has done a fine job building his 1/72 Hasegawa Spitfire IXc.   Timothy finished this beauty in the markings of top-scoring Norwegian ace.     


Stephane Petitjean has been busy building his 1/48 Italeri F-22A Raptor.  This is a difficult kit to build, but if you are determined you can build an excellent looking F-22 like this one. 


Bill Lachance dropped by the ARC Corporate offices with his 1/48 Hobby Craft FG-1D Corsair.  Bill worked his usual magic on this Corsair and finisged it in El Salvador markings.     


Ed Okun is here with his newly repainted 1/32 Revell MiG-21FL.  Ed finished this sparp lookign MiG in Syrian markings. 


Tigre del Aire joins us from Colombia with his 1/72 Revell Fairey Swordfish.  Tigre finished it as one of the planes that hunted the Bismark.

Daryl Irwin E. Ayo has done a fine job building his 1/48 Tamiya F-15C Eagle.  Daryl used some aftermarket exhausts to make his model more accurate.  


Pavel Hrnčíř has done a beautiful job building his 1/48 Hasegawa Messerschmitt Bf109F-2 "Trautloft"Pavel also added some photo etch goodies to improve the detail.  


Jason Koh joins us from Malaysia with his 1/48 Academy F-16.  Jason added some tape seatbelts to dress up the cockpit on his F-16.   


Oishi Thailand has done an outstanding job building and finishing his 1/48 Special Hobby PE3.  This might not be the best fitting kit, but that didn't stop Oishi from doing a excellent job on it.....complete with weathering. 


Sam Ching joins us with his well done 1/144 MiG-25P Foxbat A.  Sam weathered his MiG and added a base to it.  


Steve Negley is here with his very special 1/70 Apogee Components Apollo/Saturn 1B.  This beauty stands over 3 feet tall (1 meter) and is a limited run kit.  Read Steve's article for the full details.

Derek Derks starts your Tuesday update with his 1/48 Airfix Blackburn Buccaneer.   Derek did an amazing job on all parts of his Gulf War Buccaneer.  Derek has proven he is a master modeller.

Arnold Cremers has been busy getting the details right on his 1/48 Tamiya Do 335 B6.  Arnold did quite a bit of extra work to get his Do 335 looking just right.   


Art Caesar 3rd is now 17 and he joins us today with his 1/48 Italeri F-18F 50TH Diamondback.  Art's Super Hornet sport the bright red Diamondbacks paint scheme to give this gem of a model a very eye catching look.   


Hal Marshman has been busy detailing and finishing his 1/48 Hasegawa B5N-1 Kate.   Once Hal got the details right, he finished his model as a Pearl Harbor Kate.


Helinton Luis Costa has done an outstanding job detailing and finishing his 1/72 Hasegawa F-4B Phantom.  The work and aftermarket items put into this Jolly Rogers Phantom added up to a first rate model.

I have a review of the  1/32 P-51D Part1 Big Stud Ponies decal sheet from Cutting Edge Modelworks.   This sheet features 2 different Mustangs flown by Aces.

I have some photos of the Blue Angels at various locations they have performed around the US....including one photo of the Blue Angels over the World Trade Center towers.   


Here's 7 photos of a very special 9-11 Truck.  This 18 wheeler was painted to remember the attacks on the World Trade Center on 9-11 in 2001. 


Gonzalo D. Mendoza is here with his Special 9-11 1/48 Hasegawa F/A-18C.  This jet has quite the story behind it....as you'll read in Gonzalo's article.  


Sergio Baptista is here with his 1/48 Heller Mirage III.  This article was supposed to be on ARC on Sept 7 for Brazil's Independence Day, but I missed it in my overly busy inbox.  This special Mirage is the 2 seat version in FAB (Brazilian Air Force) markings.


George R. Mustafa has done an outstanding job building, detailing and finishing his 1/20 Nichimo Cessna 172 Skyhawk Scene "First Solo".  I saw this model at the US IPMS Nationals in Kansas City and the level of added detail was phenomenal.   


Mark McClellan stopped by the Australian ARC Corporate offices with his   1/72 Minicraft B-24 Liberator.  This special Aussie Liberator flew in Australian markings during WW2 and Mark built it for his local museum.  He tells more about building this beauty in his article.   


Anton Meso has done an outstanding job detailing and finishing his 1/72 Hasegawa F-16 CJ Fighting Falcon.  Anton used a variety of detail sets to improve the detail on his F-16.....with very effective results.  


Dominic Gutierrez finishes up today's update with his 1/72 Revell Messerschmitt Bf109 G-10/AS.  This sharp looking 109 is finished in the markings for the famous Luftwaffe ace Major Erich Hartmann.

Yufei Mao begins today with his 1/72 Hasegawa Su-27Yufei built his Flanker out of the box with a sharp looking paint scheme. 


Gavin Rees is here with his very nicely detailed 1/48 MRC Acadamy CH-46E Sea Knight.  Gavin did a stunning job on the weathering....his efforts paid off.

Alan Williamson has been busy getting the details right on his 1/48 Hasegawa F/A-18C Hornet.  Alan imnproved his Hasegawa Hornet with a resin cockpit.  His article tells the trgaic story behind this particular RAAF Hornet.   


Carmel J. Attard has been very skillful and determined in making his 1/72 Scratchbuilt Greyhound.  He has kindly included a photo of this beauty with no paint so you can see what is involved.  Amazing.  


Victor Yong joins us with his 1/48 Academy MiG-29.  Victor finished his aggressive looking MiG in Malaysian Air Force markings.

Henrique Vidal Malzone has done a beautiful job building his 1/48 Dragon Master Series Junkers Ju 188A-1 RACHER.  This particular version of the Ju-88 is the torpedo version.  


Bill Lachance has been busy adding details to his very sharp looking 1/48 Hasegawa RF-4C Phantom II.  Bill added some aftermarket goodies to enhance the detail on his Phantom.

Louis Chang begins today with his 1/48 Hasegawa F-104GThis model uses a Cutting Edge C-2 ejection seat and is finished in Republic of China (Taiwan) Air Force markings. 


Andrew George has built the 1/48 Italeri UH-1H Iroquois and finished it in Aussie markings for a chopper used last year in relief efforts at Banda Aceh after the tsunami.  Nice one Andrew.


DRAKENDK has dropped by today with his 1/72 Revell Hunter F MK.51 DRAKENDK improved many areas of this kit and finished it off in Royal Danish Air Force markings to produce a very fine model.


Yufei Mao joins us today with his 1/72 Matchbox F-14A Prototype.  This special F-14 brings back memories for Yufei as you'll read about in his article.  The finished model came out looking very well.  


Rafi Ben-Shahar joins us with his  1/48 Dragon Focke Wulf 190A/F-8.  Rafi actually has 2 fine looking models in his article built over a 6 year period.


Marco Cossu is here with his attractive looking 1/72 Cunarmodel Piaggio P180 Av13anti.  This resin kit was finished in Italian markings and is an odd looking design with it's pusher motors.

Maciek Zywczyk is here to mark the beginning of WW2 with his 1/48 Mirage PZL P.11c.  This Polish fighter that was flown by so many gallant Polish fighter is the defence of their country.  Maciek has improved his model to a very high level of detail.   


Jed 'Jedi' Jenson has been busy adding details to his very sharp looking  1/32 Tamiya F-16CJ Block 50 converted to F-16CG Block 40.  You've got to see this F-16 and it's detail to believe it......amazing stuff. 


Gabriel Stern is here with another of his light hearted articles.  Today it is his 1/72 Valom Lockheed XFV-1 Salmon.  Just when you think you've seen every aircraft, Gabriel opens the ARC office door and proves there's always another aircraft that we haven't heard of.  Read his article for the full story. 


Eric Bade has been busy adding details to his very sharp looking  1/72 Esci Ling Temco Vought A-7D and A-7E Corsair II.  This detail level would look quite good in 1/48, but to detail a model this much in 1/72 is very impressive.   


Jorge H Campos joins us from Mexico with his first artcile on ARC.  This is his 1/72 Heller Bf-109E which Jorge reworked and improved many areas of the detail to get things looking much better.  Welcome to ARC Jorge!!!   


Ed Okun has been busy building his sharp looking 1/32 Hasegawa A-4E Converted to Israeli A4-H.  Ed used some resin items Cutting Edge Design to make this project possible
