   US Memorial Day  

No product articles today out of respect for the  US Memorial Day.

Florian Enste starts today with something a bit different.  This is Florian's 1/350 Flagman U-boat Type VIIC with added detailing made from scratch as well as aftermarket detail items.  Check out the photos in the article.....they are quite well done. 

Ioannis Giavasis has done an outstanding job detailing and finishing his  1/48 Hobby Boss Mig-17 F Fresco.  Ioannis  added a Neomega cockpit set and Quickboost guns to add further detail, but the real beauty of this Egyptian MiG-17 is the painting and weathering job..

Juan Jesús Moreno joins us today with his well weathered 1/48 Trumpeter MiG-3.  This Mig-3 looks like it has been through many months of hard fighting....I love it. 

Bob Bartolacci has been busy building his very attractive 1/72 Hasegawa F-104.  Bob chose to finish his sharp looking Starfighter in Italian markings......which really does look good.

Tudor Gheorghiu starts today with his outstanding looking 1/48 Tamiya Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a.  Tudor did some extra scratchbuilt detailing to improve upon the very fine Tamiya 262.  Then this beautiful Me-262 was finished in the markings for Heinz Bar's "Red 13" bird with some weathering for added realism.  

Eric Hargett has done a truly impressive job on his 1/48 Academy Seversky P-35A.  Eric tells the early war history of the P-35's as well as the background of the P-35 as it served and fought in the Philippines.  Eric's P-35 is one of these weathered Philippines defenders.

Serge Dompierre joins us today with his very nicely done 1/48 Hasegawa CF-104.  Serge used Canadian markings on his Starfighter as it would have looked in the mid '70's.  This Starfighter turned out looking excellent.

Rafi Ben-Shahar has been busy making his 1/48 Dragon Ju 88G-6 look just right.  Rafi is a skilled modeler so of course he chose a difficult camo scheme for his Ju-88.  I love the look of it with the radar antenna on the nose.

Massimiliano Bianchi starts today with his super detailed 1/48 Academy F-51D Mustang.  Massimiliano  did some amazing scratchbuilding to create his super detailed Korean War era F-51.  The sharks mouth was hand painted.

KNES Armin has done a huge amount of work to create his exceptional looking 1/48 SMT MiG-29.  Armin used a combination of aftermarket items and his own scratchbuilding skills to complete his impressive SMT MiG-29.  

Lorenzo Cassinadri is here today with his beautifully done 1/48 Hasegawa Macchi C.205 "Veltro".  Lorenzo added scratchbuilt details to many different areas of his Macchi C.205 before successfully airbrushing the difficult camo pattern freehand.  I really like how well this Macchi C.205 looks.  Well done Lorenzo.

Daniël Obers has done an outstanding job detailing and finishing his Vietnam era 1/72 Hasegawa VMFA323 F-4B.  Daniël used a variety of aftermarket detail items to give his Phantom a  much higher level of detail.  He then finished it as a USMC bird with just the perfect amount of weathering.

Mark Chen has done a fantastic job on his 1/72 Academy CF-18A Hornet.  Mark displayed his Canadian Hornet in-flight with a pilot figures, weathering and a full weapons load.  This one really come out looking great. 

Fernando I. Moreno Villa joins us from sunny and warm Monterrey, México with his 1/72 Airfix Bristol F2B.  Fernando scratchbuilt extra details for his Bristol before finishing his model in the markings for the Mexican Air Force.  I always enjoy seeing Fernando's latest model on ARC.

Lyle Brown dropped by today with his McDonnell 119 Artwork. 

Vidal A. A. Costa is here with a model started by  his friend Joao F. Bertoldi.  Vidal worked with Joao to finish this 1/48 Fujimi Messerschmitt Bf-109 G-6 and it turned out to be quite the project, but in the end they had a amazing looking, award winning Gustav for their efforts.  This was quite the team project.

 Jordan Independence Day

This weeks Twobobs Newsletter is up and it is LOADED with the instruction sheets for the many F-5 Aggressor "Nellis/PACAF Gomers" decal sheets.  You've got to check these out.....the selection of paint schemes is fantastic.  Bob has outdone himself this time.

Mark Kannemeyer has done an exceptionally nice job on his 1/32 Trumpeter F4F Wildcat.  Mark added plenty of detail to his Wildcat and the photos of the model look as detailed as the real aircraft.  The markings were painted using homemade stencils and his Wildcat was given weathering to complete it.  

Massimo Turati has put quite a bit of effort into his sharp looking  1/48 Hasegawa F-14A VF-84 "Jolly Rogers".   Massimo gave his Tomcat some weapons and  finished this beauty in Jolly Rogers markings and weathering.  Very nicely done Massimo.

Chip Berseth has been busy building his flawless looking 1/48 Revell Mil-24 Hind.  Chip found this to be an enjoyable build and the finished model looks spot on with its Polish markings and weathering.  This kit really does build into a fine looking Hind as you will see in the photos provided by Chip.

Laurent Stern had a challenging time building his resin 1/72 Liberty Quality Kit AMX A-1.  Along the way Laurent added some extra details and finished his AMX in Brazilian markings.  It is good to see the AMX in Brazilian markings and I am impressed with how good Laurent's AMX does look.

 Anniversary of the Chilean Navy and the anniversay of the Iquique´s Naval Combat (South Pacific War, between Chile, Peru and Bolivia) 

Peter Kormos has done an exceptional amount of work on his 1/72 Academy B-17F to BQ-7 conversion.  Peter added scratchbuilt detailing as well as aftermarket detail items to dress up the detail on his BQ-7.  But it was Peter's high modelling skill that pulled this whole model together into the stunning example you'll see in his article. 

Jinoo Koo has done an outstanding job detailing and finishing his 1/32 Trumpeter F4F3 (Martlet Mk1).  He then created a desert diorama to display his Martlet and the final model and diorama look very realistic.  

Mark L. Rossmann is here with three 58th FBW Sabre’s from 1955-1958.  These are from the time of colorful markings and Mark has captured 3 great looking jets.  He tell all about these Sabres in his article including some of the history.  Flawless work Mark.

David Rapasi has been busy getting everything just right on his 1/48 Tamiya FW 190 A8R8.  The markings for this particular 190 are for an Ace with 31 kills and Dave tells about that and his  FW-190 in his article.  I really like the look of the camo and weathering on this one.

Zotz Decals has a new 1/72 Gunships Over Vietnam decal sheet now up on their site.  It includes 3 different types of aircraft......10 different aircraft including some with noseart.

Rafi Ben-Shahar get things started today with his  beautifully done 1/32 Wingnut Wings Albatros D.V.  You've all heard the positive comments about the Wingnuts kits and now is your chance to see one of these stellar kits built by Rafi. 

Peter Wilkinson drops by today with his eye catching 1/48 Hasegawa A-7E Corsair II.  Peter dressed up the cockpit area with an Aires resin cockpit and finished it off with decals from Microscale which gave some very colorful markings.  Peter really pulled this project together wonderfully.

Lyle Brown joins us with his Douglas C-54E Skymaster artwork.  I always love seeing his latest work. 

Juan Jesús Moreno is here with some thing special.  This is his beautifully done 1/48 Italeri Mirage IIIEE in the markings for a Spanish Air Force Mirage from the 1970's.  Juan gave his Mirage weathering for added realism.  Very nice indeed.

Turkish Remembrance  of Ataturk

  and Youth Day for Turkey 

We've got a big Turkish update today.  I'd like to send out my best wishes to all the modellers in Turkey....have a great holiday.

Gokhan Eren gets this Turkish update start in fine style.  This is his 1/72 Academy T-6 G Texan with a special cover for the canopy to deal with some canopy problems during construction......I like that....creative thinking.  Gokhan has also included an old photo of his late father standing in front of a Texan. 

Ayhan Toplu is here from Turkey with the first of his 3 articles for this special update.  This is his 1/48 Tamiya Bf-109E3 with a flawless camo paint job with weathering in the markings of a Luftwaffe Ace. 

Zafer Yilmaz is here with the first of his 3 articles for this special update.  Zafer has done a beautiful job building and weathering his 1/72 Hasegawa B-25H.  And check out the cool noseart.

Sertac Bayar has spent an amazing amount of time and effort fixing and adding detail to his 1/32 Testors YF-22.  I am truly impressed how well the finished model looks. 

Ayhan Toplu has done a great job building and finishing his 1/48 Dragon Ta-154 A/0.  This is one of the radar equipped plane used by the Luftwaffe and Ayhan has all the delicate radar antennas on his Ta-154.

Zafer Yilmaz joins us with his big beautiful 1/32 Hasegawa Bf-109G-6.  The camo scheme on this Gustav is one I don't recall seeing before and I do like the way it looks.  Zafer dressed up the detail with a variety of aftermarket items and decals.

Ayhan Toplu is here with his third article of the day.  This is flawless 1/72 Academy F-84G finished with Alclad2 paints and some great looking Turkish markings that include noseart.  Gotta' like that.  Well done Ayhan.

Zafer Yilmaz has done a gorgeous job on his 1/48 Tamiya Fw 190D-9.  The Dora is a great looking plane and Zafer captured the look of it perfectly.

Volkan Uzeler is here with his Turkish 1/48 Kinetic F-16DG Block 40.  Volkan is a master modeller when it comes to weathering and panel line shading as you will see in his photos.  Some of the markings came from a  Zotz Decals sheet.

  US Armed Forces Appreciation Day  

Hot Babe of the Week! photos from Twobobs  this week are courtesy of Yannis Lekkas. Yannis is a professional aviation photographer from Greece and has been kind enough to share some of his work with us this week. Thanks Yannis!

James Olschlager Jr. joins us with another of his beautifully done choppers.  Today James is here with his 1/72 Hobby Boss SH-60B in the markings of HSL-47 Saberhawks.  I love it. 

Zenden Ng had a challenging time with fit problems and poor quality decals on his 1/72 Tamiya JAS-39 Gripen.  But Zenden overcame these problems and produced a weathered Gripen with a full weapons load.  It looks very realistic.  

Gary Adams has put quite a bit of added effort into his 1/48 Eduard FW 190D-9.  Gary added scratchbuilt detail to the cockpit on his Fw-190 Dora and then gave it a very unique camo scheme, followed by weathering to complete his Luftwaffe fighter. 

Rodrigo Rendon built his 1/72 Hasegawa Lockheed S-3B Viking for a lucky friend.  Rodrigo repositioned some of the flying surfaces before giving his Viking some excellent looking markings and full USN weathering.  But that wasn't all......Rodrigo also made a carrier deck display base complete with aircraft tie downs.  Yup...one very lucky friend!!!

  Norway Constitution Day 

This weeks Twobobs Newsletter is up. Oh Boy.....you're gonna' love this....Bob has the instruction sheets for the new F-5 Aggressor sheets in his newsletter!!!  When it comes to Aggressor sheets......nobody beats Bob!!! 

Burt Gustafson is here to give you a chance to see his exceptional 1/48 Tamiya A-1H Skyraider.  Burt gave his Skyraider a full weapons load to show off this aircraft's true value.  I'm always thrilled to see Burt's latest model on ARC.

Javier Johnson joins us with his very sharp looking 1/48 Esci Mirage F1JA.  Javier used detail parts from Fonderie Miniatures and Neomega to improve the detasil on this older kit.  Then he finished it off in markings for the FAE (Ecuador) using decal from Aztec.  Sadly this plane was shot down......the full story is in his article.  

Eugenio E. Alés is here with his beautifully done out of the box build of his 1/72 Hasegawa Ta 154 Moskito.  This is one very time consuming lo-viz camo scheme that Eugenio got looking just right.  Final weathering including gun smoke stains brings this model to life.

Joe Nassi has been busy getting all the little details on his 1/48 Monogram SNJ (AT-6) lookign just right.  Joe scratchbuilt 2 seats for his trainer and dressed up the cockpit further with careful detail painting before finishing his classic trainer in a bright yellow paint scheme. Joe also added seatbelts......very nicely done indeed.

  Paraguay Independence Day 

A reminder.....if you haven't picked up your 1/48  1/48 T-2C Buckeye model kit from Twobobs, then you might want to do so.  This kit is quietly selling out and I've got a copy and it is a great kit.


David Rapasi is here with 3 of his 1/48 Tamiya F4U-1A Corsairs of VMF17.  David is a master at weathering and in today's article he shows 3 aircraft in various degrees of weathering to show them from new to tired and weathered.  Impressive......he makes it look so easy.

Francisco lara "Manimal" has been busy adding some amazing detail and weathering to his 1/32 Academy F/A-18M.  This Hornet has been converted to a Spanish Hornet with a  resin cockpit and resin figure as well as homemade decals and a flawless weathering job.  Wow....I love it.

John Doerr joins us today with a fantastic selection of his 1/48 Bf 109E's.  John has captured a great variety of the paint schemes worn by the BF-109E during it's operational life.  I know you're going to enjoy seeing John's Emil's

Floyd S. Werner, Jr. gets things fired up today with his 1/48 Italeri UH-1H.  Floyd is a well respected expert on choppers and it shows in his attention to detail on this one.  Of course the fact he's a top notch modeler helps as well. 

Chris Parsons has done a marvelous job building and finishing his  1/32 Trumpeter F-18E.  Chris did some added detailing in the cockpit to dress things up.  As you'll see in Chris's article....this kit builds up into an impressive looking model.  Nicely done indeed Chris. 

Tim Cvetic joins us with his great looking 1/48 Hobbycraft La 7.  This particular La 7 is finished in the markings of I N Kozhedub the highest scoring allied ace in WW2.  Tim also gave his La 7 some added detailing and a subtle application of weathering to finish it off.  The number o victory markings on the side of the fuselage has to be seen to be appreciated.

Alexander Gromov aka Sanchez was very impressed with the fit of the 1/32 Tamiya A6M2b Zero.   Alexander enjoyed building his Zero and the finished model is a beauty......as it appeared on Dec 8 1941.

Stephan Mühlberger has done a gorgeous job detailing and finishing his 1/32 Hasegawa TF-104G-M Starfighter.  Stephan's F-104 is finished with aftermarket and homemade decals and a first class weathering job.  

Denis Podgorniy joins us today with his Fw 189A-1 Artwork.  Wow.....I love seeing Artwork by Denis.

Ferenc Bogádi is here with his great looking 1/144 Revell A320 in the colourful livery of  WIZZAIR.  Ferenc  used engines from a different kit to get the correct engines on his A320 and then he gave it this colourful paint job.  It's good to see an Airbus in WIZZAIR markings.

Chris Mangion starts things off today with his gallery article he calls "My Messerschmitt Me109 fleet".  Chris has quite the selection of paint schemes for you to enjoy and they are all beautifully done.  Very impressive Chris.

Carmel J Attard has been busy building another vac-u-formed kit.  This is his 1/72 Airmodel T-39 Sabreliner in USAF markings.  Carmel makes these vac-u-formed kits look so easy and the fiunished models always looks perfect.  His article tells the history of the T-39 Sabreliner as well as what was required to build his model. 

André Pacheco de Moraes has been busy converting Revell’s 1/118 Martin PBM-5 Mariner into a 1/118 Revell Martin PBM-3S Mariner.  This conversion required some scratchbuilding as well as custom made decals.  But  André also gave his model a flawless weathering job to complete this beautiful flying boat.

Daniel Matey is here with one of the better looking Tomcat camo schemes.  This is his 1/48 Academy F-14A Bombcat complete with a great looking paint scheme, weathering and a very well done diorama base.  I love the look of his F-14..

Malcolm Reid had a grand time building his 1/32 Tamiya Spitfire Mk.IX.  Malcolm has high praise for this kit.  He chose to finish his Spit in French post- war markings from Vietnam, which is a great option to the usual markings worn by most Spitfire models.  Malcolm did this one up right and it looks perfect in every way.   

Dragan Cvetic has done an exceptionally nice job building, detailing his  and finishing his 1/72 KP MIG-21 SM.  Dragan scratchbuilt a cockpit as well as other things to turn this into a great looking MiG-21.  I love how it turned out. 

Denis Podgorniy joins us today with another of his impressive pieces of art.....this is his painting of a Bf 109E-4/B.  Wow this really is amazing artwork.

Joe Marranca joins us with a very well done 1/48 Hasegawa Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero.  Joe did some added detailing and some beautifully subtle weathering before finishing his Zero in the markings of a Pearl Harbor attacker.  Joe's Zero is a treat to see.

Gabriel Stern is back today with Part 2 of his article about his 1/72 Scratchbuilt/Vac Capelis XC-12.  Gabriel tells us in complete detail about what was involved to build this very rare and unique looking airliner.  Gabriel's amazing skills make it all look so easy.

Petit James drops by today with his 1/48 ESCI MiG-23s.  This is an Iraqi MiG-23 using Linden Hill Decals posed in a diorama.....complete with a Saddam Hussein figure.

Rafi Ben-Shahar is here with his 1/48 Hasegawa Bf 109G-6/R6 with it's eye catching camo scheme.  Rafi airbrushed this camo scheme freehand......which shows how very skilled he is with an airbrush..

  Mexico - Cinco De Mayo  

Best wishes to everyone today in Mexico....enjoy Cinco De Mayo. 

Gabriel Stern is here with Part 1 of his article on his 1/72 Scratchbuilt / Vac kit Capelis XC-12.  I'm very proud to say that Gabriel was the one that made the masters for this vac-u-formed kit and you're seeing it here first.  Tomorrow in Part 2 Gabriel will build this beauty for you all to enjoy.

Orlando Sucre Rosales joins us from sunny and warm Caracas, Venezuela with his great looking 1/72 Airfix Saab Draken.  This is another in Orlando's series on building older Airfix kits and I must compliment Orlando on this series.  It shows very clearly that there is value in these older kits and you don't need to buy the latest and greatest kit to enjoy this hobby. 

Duan did a beautiful job building, detailing and finishing his 1/72 Revell Fokker E.III.  This little fighter is finished in the markings of the famous Ace Ernst Udet.  The shading of the paint and the careful attention to detail make this an outstanding model.

Panagiotis Koubetsos has done a fantastic job detailing and weathering his 1/48 Eduard Bf 110 C-4b.  He then built a diorama to display his 110.  His 110 has scratchbuilt detailing and the diorama is full of little details to help tell the story.  There is so much to see in this wonderful diorama. 

Chris Parsons has done a stellar job on his 1/32 Academy F/A-18D.  Chris masked all the stripes by hand and posed his Hornet just touching down and catching the wire on a carrier.  This is one impressive display.

Carmel J. Attard joins us today with something you don't see very often.  This is his 1/72 Pro-resin/Olimp Models Curtiss P-2 Hawk which is a nice resin kit.  Carmel tells the history of this rare aircraft as well as the whole building process.  This 1/72 Pro-resin/Olimp Models Curtiss P-2 Hawk builds up into a great looking model.

 Poland Constitution Day 

This weeks Twobobs Newsletter is up.  Bob has images on the new Buckeye sheets and those will be featured on ARC later this week.  Also in this weeks newsletter are the first images of the 1/48 F-5E Nellis Gomers....you're gonna' love the Aggressor camo schemes on these babies!!!

Jean-Paul Wrona is here to honor the Poland Constitution Day 1/72 Heller Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XVI with his beautifully detailed.  Jean-Paul added scratchbuilt detailing as well as detailing from Eduard and Hi-Tech before he finished his great looking model as a Free Polish Spitfire XVI using SP-Decals.  This is Jean-Paul 's first model on ARC and I look forward to seeing more models from him in the future.  Welcome to ARC Jean-Paul .

Artur KApusta joins us from Poland on this special day with his "What if" 1/48 Testors PZL W-77 "Shadow".  Artur  provides the whole story behind this very creative model in his article.  It's good to see this one wearing a Tiger Scheme.  

Artur Oslizlo is also here on the Poland Constitution Day  with his amazing 1/72 Hasegawa EA-6B Prowler.  Artur used resin seats from Aires to dress up the cockpit and then completed his Prowler with a  first class flawless weathered paint job.  I love it.
