Here
is a tip for Phantom builders everywhere: After trying the old wet tissue
in the gear wells of the Hasegawa F-4, I have tripped over the answer. The
tissue method is fine for kits with deep wells that the tissue can
"grab", However, the Phantom's wells are very shallow, so another
approach must be taken. After stabilizing your kit, INVERTED, gently pour your
favorite flavor of masking liquid into the wells even with the rim. Let dry
overnight, since another application may be needed to fill completely due to
shrinkage. After spraying correct color on underside and allowing that to dry,
simply prick the plug with an Exacto knife, and Viola! No touch up should be
required if enough material was applied into the wells.
Happy
Modelling!
